On the 17th January 2009 John elected to retire from his position as Tower Captain. John has been a Bell Ringer at St. Laurence for 55 years, since the age of 10. He has held the post of Tower Captain for the past 33 years. During this time he has rung some 167 peals and over 2500 quarter peals. John continues to ring for Sunday Worship and Weddings and on Friday practice nights. We are very grateful to John for his long and devoted service to St Laurence Church.
